The OSU Center for Improvised Explosives (IMPEX) is now the Center for Fire & Explosives, Forensic Investigations, Training and Research (CENFEX).

CENFEX Mission Statement

The Center for Fire and Explosives, Forensic Investigation, Training and Research (CENFEX) mission is to support Federal, State, and Local law enforcement departments as well as Defense and Intelligence agencies and their representatives in the analysis of forensic research areas.  Our goal is to advance the growth and understanding of forensic sciences within the national security community, as well as serving as a technical authority to first responder, state, and local entities in protecting our communities.

Vision

CENFEX will maintain its status as a recognized leader in the fields of fire and explosives research, forensic investigations, and specialized training.  CENFEX supports national security personnel, while improving partnership outreach to expand OSU-CHS’s forensic science program.
