Office of American Indians in Medicine and Science

Notice: Our website is currently under construction. If you need immediate assistance, please contact us at 405-945-8662.

The Office of American Indians in Medicine and Sciences (OAIMS) was launched in 2014 as an effort to recruit more American Indian high school and college students into medicine and science careers.

One essential commitment is to ensure Native students’ academic success both in the classrooms and out. Mentoring and financial aid are two key elements for achieving long term goals for all students and OAIMS is a resource for guiding you in these and other critical areas.

OAIMS is committed to providing Native students support in achieving an intellectually rich and challenging educational experience with our focus being you. OAIMS remains passionate about improving Tribal health and this may be achieved through medicine, or by demonstrating health and related professional sciences expertise. Our emphasis is directed towards Native students desiring undergraduate degrees, graduate level (Master's and Doctoral) degrees and terminal degrees in medicine.

We remain sensitive to barriers that often discourage Native students’ participation in these fields or expanding STEM opportunities at Tribal Colleges and Universities. OAIMS is located in the OSU-CHS office on the OSU-OKC campus, located at 900 N. Portland Avenue, Health Technologies 205, Oklahoma City, OK. Our office hours are 8 a.m. -4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.
